Preeclampsia - 9 SignsConsult a doctor if you have any of the following signs and symptoms.

  1. Sustained high blood pressure during pregnancy:
  2. Severe or persistent headaches
  3. Heart palpitations
  4. Dizziness
  5. Double vision, blurriness, seeing spots, light sensitivity or temporary loss of vision
  6. Excessive swelling of hands, feet, ankles or calves, with puffiness around the eyes
  7. Nausea or vomiting, other than typical morning sickness and pain of the upper abdomen (usually on the right side under your ribs)
  8. Less frequent urination
  9. Shortness of breath
    Remember: preeclampsia can develop after delivery as well, so let your healthcare provider know immediately if you develop any of these symptoms after you’ve taken baby home.
